With the growth of the Internet activities, high-speed Internet access and various Internet applications are easily found in our daliy life. Catering to the trends of Internet activities and security, PLANET now launches XRT-411, a solution for high- speed Internet access, and worry-free surfing on the net.
Superior than previous generation, the built-in connection wizard in XRT-411 (DHCP, fixed IP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, SingTel RAS) are optimized for different ISP environments around the world and various DDNS client support, the PLANET XRT-411 is able to use most connection types, and meet the most demanding Internet application requirements.
With easy integration and full compatibility with existing network infrastructures, the PLANET XRT-411 comprises a 4-port auto-sensing, auto-MDI/MDI-X 10/100Mbps switch, and a 10/100Base-TX WAN port providing Internet access for both servers and LAN side workstations.
It also provides a USB port for USB printer sharing. A printer connected to the XRT-411's USB port can be shared by all PCs on the LAN segment. Printing tasks can be completed without requiring an additional print server adapter.
Via the user-friendly management interface, XRT-411 can be managed by workstations running standard web browsers. Furthermore, XRT-411 provides DHCP server support, virtual server, DMZ support, PPTP/IPSec pass through, and URL filtering capability. For overall network security, the XRT-411 integrates user-defined access control and SPI firewall protection, offering high efficiency and extensive protection for your network.
Product Application
Internet Access and Printer Sharing:
XRT-411 WAN port can be connected to the Internet through either an xDSL or Cable Modem. With the assistance of a DDNS client, SOHO users with a dynamic IP may build their own websites, ftp servers. With features such as add-on virtual servers, special applications, UPnP, and DMZ supports, users can enjoy trouble-free Internet communications. The built-in USB printer sharing function saves the cost of additional print server.
Key Features
Internet Access Features
Shared Internet Access. All users on the LAN or WLAN can access the Internet through the Broadband Router, using only an external IP Address.
DSL & Cable Modem Support. The Broadband Router has a 10/100Base-T Ethernet port for connecting a DSL or Cable Modem. All popular DSL and Cable Modems are supported.
Fixed IP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, SingTel RAS and Telstra Big Pond Support. All common Internet connection methods are supported, including Fixed IP, PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet), PPTP (Peer-to-Peer Tunneling Protocol), L2TP, SingTel RAS and Telstra Big Pond (Australia), as well as "Direct Connection" type services.
Advanced Internet Functions
Communication Applications. It supports Internet communication applications, such as interactive games, Telephony, and conferencing applications, which are often difficult to use when behind a Firewall.
Special Internet Applications. Applications which use non-standard connections or port numbers are normally blocked by the Firewall. The ability to define and allow such applications is provided, to enable such applications to be used normally.
Virtual Servers. This feature allows Internet users to access Internet servers on your LAN. The required setup is quick and easy.
DDNS Support.DDNS (Dynamic DNS) allows Internet users to connect to Virtual Servers on your LAN using a domain name, even if your IP address is not fixed. A number of popular DDNS services are supported.
Multi-DMZ.For each WAN (Internet) IP address allocated to you, one PC on your local LAN can be configured to allow unrestricted two-way communication with servers or individual users on the Internet. This provides the ability to run programs which are incompatible with Firewalls.
URL Filter.Use the URL Filter to block access to undesirable Web sites by LAN users.
Access Control.Using the Access Control feature, you can assign LAN users to different groups, and determine which Internet services are available to each group.
VPN Pass through Support. PCs with VPN (Virtual Private Networking) software using PPTP, L2TP and IPSec are transparently supported - no configuration is required.
LAN Features
4-Port Switch. The Broadband Router incorporates a 4-port 10/100BaseT switching hub, making it easy to create or extend your LAN.
DHCP Server Support. The Broadband Router can act as a DHCP Server for devices on your local LAN.
Shared USB Printer (Network Printer). A printer connected to the Broadband Router's USB port can be shared by all Windows PCs on your LAN, using the provided Print Port driver or LPD. Unix systems can also share the printer, using LPD.
Configuration & Management
Easy Setup. Use your WEB browser from anywhere on the LAN or WAN for configuration.
Configuration File Upload/Download. Save (download) the configuration data from the Broadband Router to your PC, and restore (upload) a previously-saved configuration file to the Broadband Router.
UPnP Support. UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) allows automatic discovery and configuration of the Broadband Router. UPnP is supported by Windows ME, XP.
Security Features
NAT Protection. By allowing all LAN users to share a single IP address, the location and even the existence of each PC are hidden.
Stateful Inspection Firewall. All incoming data packets are monitored and all incoming server requests are filtered for protecting your network from malicious attacks from external sources.
Protection against DoS attacks.DoS (Denial of Service) attacks can flood your Internet connection with invalid packets and connection requests that Internet access becomes unavailable. The Broadband Router incorporates protection against DoS attacks.
