With the demand for fiber, PLANET provides the new fiber optic switch hubs, FNSW-8088F and FNSW-8086F. The FNSW-8088F has eight multi-mode fiber ports. And for FNSW-8086F, it has 6-port 100Base FX port and 2-port 10/100Base-TX port.
This switch can easily form a switched Fiber-optic (ST interface) Fast Ethernet network as a 2km diameter star type switched backbone. By splitting a network into several fiber-optic segments and bridging them, you can cut the traffic load on your network and reduce collisions on each long distance segment.
This switch fully complies with IEEE 802.3u, 100Base-TX, 100Base-FX, IEEE802.3, and 10Base-T standards. It features "wire-speed" , "store and forward" switching mechanisms as well as the ability to filter local traffic, collisions, and error packets to maximize network performance.
Supporting full-duplex in default, the fiber-optic port will direct support up to 2 kilometer multi-mode optic-fiber wiring, and the two twisted pair of FNSW-8086F supports Auto-Negotiation makes it easy to connect to any types of devices with optimal transmit mode. (10/20Mbps, 100/200Mbps)

Fiber-optic Backbone Switch:
With up to 8 x 100Base-FX switching ports for long distance connections, segment switches can easily be connected through up to 2 Kilometers fiber-optic link. The two TP ports of the FNSW-8086F also enable two servers or two networks back bone link for your six remote network segments.
