The Intelligent Media Converter Chassis WMC 1600R series provides 16-slots and one management system in a 19"-rack chassis. The management function enables network administrators to monitor media converter connection status and configure the converter via an SNMP agent, Telnet or Web browser remotely, or locally via an RS-232 console port.
The WMC-1600R series media converter chassis allows the connection of up to sixteen PLANET Smart Fast / Gigabit Ethernet Converter in one chassis. With an independent power supply on each slot of the WMC-1600R series, any converter is hot swappable without causing an interruption to other converters. Each bay of the media converter chassis can be populated with members of PLANET's smart media converter family. A redundant power supply is also provided to enhance the reliability with options of either 100~240V AC power or -48V DC power.
PLANET currently provides the WFT-8 series (10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX) and the WGT- 7 series (1000Base-T to 1000Base-SX/LX) Smart Media Converters with various fiber connecters and connection distance. While the converters are installed into the chassis, each converter can be configured and monitored through console, Telnet, Web and SNMP.
