PLANET WRT-413 is a high-speed Wireless IEEE802.11g Access Point and DSL/Cable Broadband Router. The IEEE802.11g standard provides greater bandwidth ¡V up to 54Mbps. Operating in the 2.4GHz using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), 802.11g is backward compatible with 802.11b. The WRT-413 offers shared Internet access via your DSL/Cable modem, and with a built-in 4-ports switch. With 64/128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) Encryption and MAC/IP filter are provided for securing network connection.
The WRT-413 allows you setup trigger ports of special applications, and let you utilize Internet services smoothly. The SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) firewall can protect your Intranet PCs from illegal access and many kinds of DoS attacks from the Internet, and alert you by e-mail in the real time. The Virtual Server and Multi-DMZ functions let you setup your servers in the Intranet and still can provide services to the Internet users. Access Control function allows you to block the Internet service to different clients.
The WRT-413 provides a total solution for the Small and Medium-sized Business (SMB) and the Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) markets, giving you an instant network today, and the flexibility to handle tomorrow's expansion and speed.
Product Application
To get the benefit of wire/wireless networking to all of the home or office users, the WRT-413 is an ideal solution. Locate the WRT-413 at a central point in the office or home and connect it to an xDSL/Cable modem. The Notebooks or remote desktops can easily connect to the Internet by installing a wire/wireless adapter.
Key Features
Internet Access Features Shared Internet Access. All users on the LAN can access the Internet through WRT-413, using only a single external IP Address. The local (invalid) IP Addresses are hidden from external sources. This process is called NAT (Network Address Translation). DSL & Cable Modem Support. WRT-413 has a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port for connecting a DSL or Cable Modem. All popular DSL and Cable Modems are supported. PPPoE and PPTP Supported. The Internet (WAN port) connection supports PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet) and PPTP (Peer-to-Peer Tunneling Protocol), as well as "Direct Connection" type services. Fixed or Dynamic IP Address. On the Internet (WAN port) connection, WRT-413 supports both Dynamic IP Address (IP Address is allocated on connection) and Fixed IP Address.
Advanced Internet Functions
Conferencing & Telephony Applications. Internet Telephony and Conferencing applications, which are often difficult to use when behind a Firewall, are supported. Special Internet Applications. Applications which use non-standard connections or port numbers are normally blocked by the Firewall. The ability to define and allow such applications is provided, to enable such applications to be used normally. Virtual Servers. This feature allows Internet users to access Internet servers on your LAN. The required setup is quick and easy. DMZ. One PC of your local LAN can be configured to allows unrestricted 2-way communication with Servers or individual users on the Internet. This provides the ability to run programs which are incompatible with Firewalls. URL Blocking. Use the URL Blocking to block access to undesirable Web sites by LAN users. VPN pass-through Support. VPN (Virtual Private Networking) connections using PPTP and IPSec are transparently supported - no configuration is required.
LAN Features Five Ethernet ports. WRT-413 has 5 Ethernet ports. One (the WAN port) is connected to your DSL or Cable modem. The other 4 (the LAN ports) are used to connect to your local LAN. DHCP Server Support. Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) provides a dynamic IP address to PCs and other devices upon request. WRT-413 can act as a DHCP Server for devices on your local LAN and WLAN. Multi Segment LAN Support. LANs containing one or more segments are supported, via WRT-413's RIP (Routing Information Protocol) support and built-in static routing table.
Configuration & Management Easy Setup. Use your WEB browser from anywhere on the LAN for configuration. Remote Management. WRT-413 can be managed from any PC on your LAN. And, if the Internet connection exists, it can also (optionally) be configured remotely via the Internet. UPnP Support. UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) allows automatic discovery and configuration of WRT-413. UPnP is by supported by Windows Me/ 2000/ XP/ Windows Server 2003 or later. Firmware upgrade can be easily done in web browser or TFTP program.
Security Features Password - protected Configuration. Optional password protection is provided to prevent unauthorized users from modifying the configuration data and settings. NAT Protection. An intrinsic side effect of NAT (Network Address Translation) technology is that by allowing all LAN users to share a single IP address, the location and even the existence of each PC is hidden. From the external viewpoint, there is no network, only a single device - WRT-413. Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall. All incoming data packets are monitored and all incoming server requests are filtered, thus protecting your network from malicious attacks from external sources. Protection against DoS attacks. DoS (Denial of Service) attacks can flood your Internet connection with invalid packets and connection requests, using so much bandwidth and so many resources that Internet access becomes unavailable. WRT-413 incorporates protection against DoS attacks. Supports WPA-PSK.
